A big ol' week in our Googleverse. There were some huge announcements at Google I/O that'll affect SEOs. Most notably Google LaMDA & MUM.
LaMDA is Google's latest breakthrough conversation technology. As described by Google, "LaMDA can engage in a free-flowing way about a seemingly endless number of topics, an ability we think could unlock more natural ways of interacting with technology and entirely new categories of helpful applications."
MUM is an AI milestone for Google. It's a model that gets them closer to answering complex questions the way an expert would. It's absolutely fascinating.
In addition to all those excited updates, there appears to have been an algorithm update over the weekend! Barry Schwartz described the update as "off the charts". 😅
