Domain doppelgängers: the winners and losers of misplaced links
This is a really interesting (and funny) piece from Dan Rawley. Big brands are losing links because of their doppelgängers. Dan estimated that three-quarters of all the links to guardian.com’s homepage are meant for another site (ie. the newspaper) — that’s over 1,300 links!
Long Term Shared Hosting Experiment
I thought this experiment was pretty impressive from Reboot, with surprising results. They tried to control a ton of variables which I really liked, and their data viz is second to none! Worth a look. 👏
Interesting Finds Feature Is Changing Mobile SERPs
This is from earlier in the year but I've only just stumbled upon it and it's such a brilliant post from Danielle Rohe. The 'Interesting Finds' SERP feature is not one talked about too often, but perhaps it should be. Danielle scraped 1,425 queries and 70% of them had 'Interesting Finds.'
Interesting! 🤔

GMB Explorer Tool
"Explore data from over 800,000 Google My Business listings in 70+ categories across 200 cities in the U.S. and Canada." Very neat! 🔥
An SEO Audit Questionnaire
This is a super useful list of onboarding questions by Andor Palau to collect information prior to an SEO Audit. Good on Andor for releasing it too! 👏
A midweek issue? Am I crazy? Perhaps.
Just testing a few things guys.
Anywhom, back to business. I've had to leave a few posts out of this issue as it was toooo full; they're all in for next week though 😁
My Post of the Week comes from Benji Hyam. I've re-read it about three times because it's that good, and deserves so much more love on social media. If you like it, share it 🙂
Benji advocates a bottom-up approach to SaaS Content Marketing. He suggests focusing on direct product-related and Pain Point SEO terms first, and working your way up the funnel to terms that have less buying intent.
What do you think? Should you focus on top of the funnel only when you've exhausted all bottom of the funnel topics?
