This is a really interesting (and funny) piece from Dan Rawley. Big brands are losing links because of their doppelgängers. Dan estimated that three-quarters of all the links to guardian.com’s homepage are meant for another site (ie. the newspaper) — that’s over 1,300 links!
I thought this experiment was pretty impressive from Reboot, with surprising results. They tried to control a ton of variables which I really liked, and their data viz is second to none! Worth a look. 👏
This is from earlier in the year but I've only just stumbled upon it and it's such a brilliant post from Danielle Rohe. The 'Interesting Finds' SERP feature is not one talked about too often, but perhaps it should be. Danielle scraped 1,425 queries and 70% of them had 'Interesting Finds.'
